“In short, WOW! The inLIGHTin Workshop blew us away. Mike tailored his studio workshop for our specific needs. He understood our backgrounds as photographers and catered his lesson accordingly to give us skills we previously didn’t have and reinforced skills that were still emerging for us. Mike varied the instruction from discussions and hands-on training to real-world examples. Easily the best 6 hours of learning we ever experienced. We felt like in just 6 hours we were given 20 years of studio lighting knowledge and experience. Thank you Mike!”
~ Mark Struckmann & Matthew Lebeda
“Michael is well versed on all lighting techniques and was very enthusiastic in presenting his knowledge. It was informative and inspirational. I enjoy listening and learning from people who possess the passion the we all have inside. The worshop could have extended way beyond 3 hours, but time was limited. Thank you Michael!”
~ John McDonald
“(The inLIGHTin’ed Presets) work great. If you like to see some pics, please visit my portfolio: www.mavabephoto.com
Once again thanks a lot. The presets are a lot of fun and they save me lots of time!”

Hello!
Hopefully I am fashionably late
I am currently wrapping up my first year of my inLIGHTin Workshops. The response in the Buffalo NY area has been absolutely amazing and I have met so many photographers along the way. My workshops are geared towards each student and I come up with a custom sylibus that meets their particular needs.

I also have some big projects in the works. I have a storefront where I sell Lightroom Presets, textures and whatnot and am in the process of making a photography DVD which should be available next year.

Wow! Super impressive. I have a question. How have you found the time to juggle all your projects. Family, photo biz AND photo education? I tend to be better when I focus - so an VERY impressed with people that are great multi-taskers. Whats your secret?

I am looking to take my inLIGHTin Workshops on the road so for anyone tuning in, get in touch with me if you would like to host an inLIGHTin Workshop in your hometown. The sooner the better with times, dates and locations so I can plan my photo biz around the travel.

Oh it is easy. I actually have a device that adds 5 hours to a day for me to fit it all in
Seriously though it is VERY tough... It really helps to have a supportive family who understands that this is my passion, goal and what pays the bills and keeps a roof over our heads. I couldn't do this without them. My secret is really that I am always making good use of my time. Photo clients come first but I will stay up an extra couple hours or whatever it may be so I can pursue other outlets.
My newest venture... with all my free time is making iPhone apps. I am excited to see how that will go and if the response in the photography community will take to it.

Yes, long time no see indeed!
I don't mean to sidetrack, but we're moving to Portland, OR, in a couple months. You and Mike should come visit!
And hello to Michael and a big thanks for doing this!

iPhone apps? Wow - you are superman! But seriously, if you create a super successful app you'll really be FREE! Very cool....

That makes sense. I am a distraction QUEEN! Need to stop reading books (non-business ones that is) and limit my media intake!

I have some really cool ideas that are going through my head and am just cracking down on how to program those stupid apps haha. Once I get past the learning curve of picking up a new programming language (or a programming interface in this case) then I will be on my way...
